Never Enough

b'The princess sat alone in her tower. There was nothing to hope for anymore, nothing to look forward to. Just day after day of loneliness and longing, serving the dragon who held her captive. As her mind swirled into a sea of despair, she glanced out the window, fully expecting to see the same dark fields and dying trees. But today, something was different. There riding toward her was a prince on a beautiful white horse!\\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153I\\u2019ve come to rescue you!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d He yelled.\\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153But the dragon that guarded my tower\\u2026what of it?\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d the princess called down. \\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153I have slayed it once and for all! You are no longer its slave. Come out of the tower, and you can live with my Father, the King!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d\\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153But I don\\u2019t know how to get down!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d The princess felt fear creeping into her voice. \\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153Leap! I\\u2019ll catch you!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d The prince held out His arms.\\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153But\\u2026but I\\u2019m scared!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d Even as she said it, His presence started eroding her fear. \\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153You can trust me. I will catch you.\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d His voice was steady; His gaze didn\\u2019t waver. \\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153But what if you\\u2019re not really a prince? What if you\\u2019re lying?\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d she cried, still unsure. \\n\\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153Princess,\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d He said gently, \\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153don\\u2019t you understand? You don\\u2019t have to serve that evil dragon because I have defeated him. My Father loves you, and He wants to adopt you into His family as his very own daughter!\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d\\nThe princess thought for a moment as the prince\\u2019s words settled in her heart, quieting her doubts. \\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153I am loved,\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d she whispered. \\xe2\\u20ac\\u0153I don\\u2019t have to live here or serve the dragon.\\xe2\\u20ac\\x9d Suddenly, she found herself leaping out of the oppressive tower into freedom and new life. \\u2022 Lily Walsh\\n\\u2022 In this story, the prince represents Jesus and the princess represents us.
