God Is with You When You Fear

b'What makes you worry?\\nSome people fear being in crowds\\u2014that something bad will happen to them when they are in a large group of people. It\\u2019s understandable. A lot of horrible things happen in our broken world. But is there a peace we can find even when we\\u2019re in situations that make us nervous?\\nOther people have faced health scares in their families. They\\u2019ve seen how bad things can get, so now they worry about every little sickness. It\\u2019s understandable for them to be nervous about health stuff because they\\u2019ve dealt with such serious issues in their lives. What peace can they rest in\\u2014no matter what happens health-wise?\\nThis world is a scary place because it is broken by sin and its effects. In our lives, so many things can cause our hearts to beat fast. So what can we cling to?\\nIn Christ, we know God is right there with us. When we are worried, God listens to our concerns (Matthew 6:25-34; 1 Peter 5:7). When we are on edge, God stands with us (Romans 8:38-39). No matter what happens\\u2014good or bad\\u2014we have Jesus with us: we are never alone in what we are facing; we have true rest in Him (Matthew 11:28-30; 28:20). \\u2022 Emily Acker\\n\\u2022 What things make you worry? As Christians, will we always live in a broken world? \\n\\u2022 Jesus is with us through the Holy Spirit and through His body, the church (Romans 8:9-11; Colossians 3:14-16). Worry is a nonmedical issue.
