God Is Our Comforter

b'Other people talk about dreams they have and plans they’ve made for their future. I listen to them and I wonder…”what is my plan? What do I really want for my life? Is there some big goal I am trying to reach?” It makes me feel scared and disappointed when I realize that I don’t have exciting plans like others do. Maybe you feel the same way.
But regardless of where we are in our lives or how much we have planned out, we can know that God has a plan for us. God sees our futures, and He knows every detail about how our lives are going to look. Through every high and low, God will be with us. And if we’ve put our trust in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we can know our eternal future with Him is secure.
While it can be exciting (and wise) to plan for the future, I don’t have to worry about making my own plans. I can lean into God’s plan for me. He’s better at the whole planning thing anyway, and I can trust that He is always working to bring about good. A life devoted to Him will be meaningful, no matter what it looks like. Ultimately, my identity is not in my plans but in Jesus Christ, \\xe2€œwho loved me and gave himself for me\\xe2€\\x9d (Galatians 2:20).
As you get closer and closer to adulthood, people may ask you about your plans. If you have no other answer for them, it’s ok to say you’re not sure, but you’re asking God to guide you and help you honor Him with your plans. And it’s a relief to know that you can follow God right now, right where He’s placed you, knowing that Jesus is with you. God guides with future plans even as you make the most of every opportunity in front of you today. • Emily Acker
• Do you have lots of plans for your future? Are you not even sure what you’re going to be doing next week? Somewhere in between? God loves you no matter what kind of planner you are! And, as a forgiven follower of Jesus, you are an important part of His kingdom.
• How might it comfort you to know that God knows your future and will always be with you?
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
