JFK conspiracy theorist and UFO author Jim Marrs has died

Jim Marrs, the author whose book Crossfire: The Plot to Kill Kennedy helped inspire the Oliver Stone movie JFK, died of a heart attack Wednesday at his Wise County home.
In March 2017, an announcement was made on Marrs' official Facebook page about an unspecified illness that caused him to cancel appearances at two upcoming events, the 5th annual Out of this World UFO Conference in Edinburg, Texas, and the Free Your Mind Conference in Philadelphia, both in April.
On June 24th he wrote "Howdy Friends! This site will be suspended for a time while my health issues are being addressed. The links to pages, books, DVD's will remain active. Please monitor this site for future developments. I welcome your support and well wishes and look forward to communicating with you in the future." Jim Marrs
Marrs, 73, who worked as a Star-Telegram reporter between 1968 to 1980, didn\u2019t just write about John F. Kennedy. He also authored books about everything from UFOs to population control.
Marrs also taught courses on the JFK assassination and UFOs at the University of Texas at Arlington before retiring in 2007.
His perspective on UFOs, \u201c\u201cThere\u2019s definitely something out there in the air,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything to fear here.\u201d
\u201cI just remember how funny he was,\u201d Carol Marrs said. \u201cI don\u2019t think about the conspiracy part, although he was an excellent teacher. His mission in life was to pursue the truth.\u201d
Among his books were \u201cCrossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy,\u201d which reached The New York Times paperback nonfiction best seller list. Other titles include: \u201cAlien Agenda\u201d (1997); \u201cRule by Secrecy\u201d (2000); \u201cThe Terror Conspiracy Revisited\u201d (2007); \u201cThe Rise of the Fourth Reich\u201d (2008); \u201cThe Trillion-Dollar Conspiracy\u201d (2010); \u201cOur Occulted History\u201d (2013); \u201cPopulation Control\u201d (2015); and his last book, \u201cThe Illuminati\u201d (2017).
An award-winning journalist, Mr. Marrs is listed both in Who\u2019s Who in the World and Who\u2019s Who in America. Mr. Marrs has won several writing and photography awards including the Aviation/Aerospace Writer\u2019s Association\u2019s National Writing Award and Newsmaker of the Year Award from the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. In 1993, Mr. Marrs received Freedom Magazine\u2019s Human Rights Leadership Award.
Mr. Marrs has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CSPAN, the Discovery, Learning and History Channels, This Morning America, Geraldo, Montel Williams, Today, Tech TV and The Larry King, George Noory and Art Bell radio programs along with numerous national and regional radio and TV shows. He is a former president of the Press Club of Fort Worth and a current member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Sigma Delta Chi, and the Investigative Reporters and Editors.
