This incredible idea was first reported in\xa0New Scientist\xa0on November 8, 2018\xa0 Agreements signed by NASA and Milner\u2019s non-profit\xa0Breakthrough Starshot\xa0foundation in September show that the organisations are working on scientific, technical and financial plans for the ambitious mission. NASA has committed over $70,000 to help produce a concept study for a flyby mission.\xa0 The board of Breakthrough Initiatives includes\xa0billionaires Yuri Milner and\xa0Mark Zuckerberg, and the late physicist\xa0Stephen Hawking.
