b"Every year, the American Automobile Association, or Triple-A, conducts a nationwide study to determine the actual per-mile cost of owning and operating a motor vehicle. It's probably no surprise that as gasoline prices have risen in the 62 years in which the study has been done, the costs of owning a vehicle have risen exponentially, including an increase of 1.9 percent from last year. While each individuals costs may vary depending on a host of factors, from gas prices to insurance costs to congestion, the benchmark, per-mile cost of owning and operating a motor vehicle in the United States may surprise you. For more on the study, I spoke with Doug Shupe, Senior Public Affairs Specialist with AAA Texas."
