Jo & Vicki then have a lively discussion, with lots of laughter, around some of the concepts in Dale Carnegie\\u2019s book: \\u2018How to Win Friends and Influence People\\u2019

1. Don\\u2019t criticise, condemn or complain.

\\n

2. Give honest and sincere appreciation.

\\n

3. Arouse in the other person an eager want.

\\n

Two Natural Ladies generally agree with Dale and question a few of his edicts \\u2013

Become genuinely interested in other people. \\u2611

\\n

Smile. \\u2611

\\n

Remember that a person\\u2019s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language. \\u2611

\\n

Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves. \\u2611

\\n

The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.??? Not sure about this? Sometimes we need to have \\u2018the fight\\u2019 otherwise we are withholding what we really feel as we are too afraid to have the argument.

\\n

Show respect for the other person\\u2019s opinions. Never say, \\u201cYou\\u2019re wrong.\\u201d

\\n

Having an intention, a goal and let it be, can sometimes help with handling sticky situations.

\\n

Put the suggestion \\u2018out there\\u2019 and then wait for the other person to think of it \\u2013 great to use with kids and partners!

\\n

Jo discusses what she learnt in the Landmark forum about getting everything handle/perfect. It\\u2019s a fallacy and not possible. Kids teach us this too

\\n

AS Two Natural Ladies so often quote \\u2018Do better not perfect!\\u2019 which leads to questioning multi-tasking \\u2013 is it possible?
