"Drinking" is this weeks theme and we have two good ones. Writer Charles Bukowski's "Barfly" (1987) is beautifully written trip into the grimy underworld of LA dive bars. Both Matt and Adam loved the dialogue, but neither could figure out where Mickey Rourke's accent was from. Denmark's "Another Round" (2020) is about four high school teachers who test a theory that they would all be better educators and men if they drank a little throughout the day. What teacher hasn't wanted to do that? The depiction of the relationship between the four was a solid centerpiece for this excellent film. A side note, Leonardo DiCaprio bought the rights to make an American version.\\xa0 #barfly #bukowski #anotherround

Next, Minor League Baseball movies with "Bull Durham" (1988) and "Everyone Wants Some" (2016).
