From March 2011: Stephen Bowie, publisher of The Classic TV History Blog, joins Ed for a conversation about East Side/West Side (CBS, 1963-1964), the short-lived but controversial series starring George C. Scott and Cicely Tyson. While East Side/West Side represented a milestone in the evolution of quality television, it also proved to be too dark, too controversial, too unglamorous, too depressing, and perhaps too good to attract a mainstream network audience at the time it originally aired.
