b"Kim Warfield was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.\\xa0 She retired as a New York City Police Detective and is an ordained Pastor.\\xa0 She received her Bachelors Degree, her Masters Degree and her PhD in Christian Counseling, then she relocated to Dover, Delaware\\xa0in August 2005.\\xa0 In 2010, she started an outreach and she is now the Founder and the Chair of the Board of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of Delaware.\\xa0 She also volunteers her time as a counselor at the Hope Medical Clinic and Shepherd's Place, a homeless shelter.Kim is running for the 17th District Senatorial seat to continue the work she has been doing in the\\xa0communities in the 17th District.\\xa0 She believes in family values so she\\xa0\\xa0has started a Fatherhood Initiative Program to acclimate fathers back into their home as well as helping them to become the head of their household.\\xa0 So, if the fathers need employment, Kim has gone to various companies to ask if they would hire the fathers.\\xa0 She has help write their resumes, fill-out the employment applications and have driven some of the fathers to job interviews.\\xa0 She also has helped the fathers look for housing by going to different apartment complexes to see if there were vacancies and have picked up housing applications as well\\xa0.\\xa0 She is starting a Women's Empowerment Program to empower women to be all that they were created to be, empower her as a wife and as a mother.\\xa0 She is also working with the children of families to mentor them about everyday life and the importance of education.\\xa0 She is in the process of starting transitional housing for\\xa0homeless women and their families and homeless veterans."
