On January 29, 2022, Boston Police Officer John O\\u2019Keefe went out for a night of drinking with his girlfriend Karen Read.\\xa0 After midnight, they decided to leave the bars and head to an after-party at a friend\\u2019s home.
\\n\\xa0
\\nWhat happened next is unclear.\\xa0 We know that both John and Karen were likely intoxicated.\\xa0 Karen eventually told police that she felt unwell so she dropped John off and headed home.\\xa0 She woke up at around 5am and realized that John had not returned home.\\xa0 She started retracing her steps and she went back to the house where the after-party was held.\\xa0 There she found John\\u2019s cold and lifeless body in the snow.

\\nThis case is very convoluted.\\xa0 Karen was charged with manslaughter following John\\u2019s death \\u2013 her SUV had apparent damage to the back and it was insinuated that she hit him while driving intoxicated.\\xa0 In the past few weeks though, Karen\\u2019s attorneys have filed documents that indicate there may have been a cover up by John\\u2019s colleagues, other members of law enforcement.\\xa0 It is claimed that John was likely beaten to death at the after-party and that he may have been attacked by a dog on the premises.\\xa0 An attendee at the after-party also googled \\u2018how long to die in the cold\\u2019 at around 2.30am on the morning that John died.
