Lynette Dawson was last seen alive in Sydney, Australia in 1982.\\xa0 She and her husband Chris Dawson had been having marriage trouble at the time.\\xa0 Chris was a high-school teacher who seemed to have a penchant for preying on teenage girls.\\xa0 He moved a student of his, named Joanne Curtis, into his home with Lyn under the guise of Joanne being a babysitter.\\xa0 Chris was 34 at the time and Joanne was 16.

\\nDays after Lyn disappeared, Joanne Curtis moved into the Dawson home permanently.\\xa0 \\xa0 Chris soon after married Joanne.\\xa0 Joanne had Lyn\\u2019s engagement and wedding rings resized to fit her.

\\nChris seemed to get away with the perfect crime for over 40 years.\\xa0 In 2018, Chris was finally charged with Lyn\\u2019s murder.\\xa0 He is now 74 years old. In August 2022, a judge found him guilty and Chris is awaiting sentencing.
