In 2018, a brave 17 year-old managed to escape the home where she had been held captive her entire life.\\xa0 She found a deactivated cell-phone that she took with her on her escape, and she called 911.\\xa0 She told police that she had been kept locked in a room for 20 hours a day and was allowed one shower per year.\\xa0
\\n
\\n
When police arrived, they found TWELVE additional children locked in the house.\\xa0 Human feces, dead animals and rotten food covered the entire property. This was not a case of human trafficking or abduction though, this is the horrific case of the Turpin Family.

\\n
David and Louise Turpin had 13 children during their marriage.\\xa0 Outwardly, the parents portrayed the family as loving and close knit \\u2013 they took the children on vacation to Disneyland and Vegas, where they all posed in matching outfits.\\xa0 In reality, they did not care for any of them and mistreated them in the worst possible ways.\\xa0 All of the children were uneducated and physically and emotionally abused.\\xa0 They used to eat ketchup, mustard and ice as there was literally nothing else to eat.\\xa0
