Episode 175- It's All About Image Part #01- Power Manifestation- Gen13

Published: Nov. 22, 2016, 7:27 p.m.

In this week's ball-manifesting episode, Magnus launches a brand new megaseries... the exact duration of which is still up for grabs due to some behind the scenes drama upon which we need not dwell.

The shtick of this megaseries is actually rather simple.

By far, one of the most controversial events of the 1990's was the advent of Image Comics. And in the ensuing years it would be safe to say that history has not been kind to 1990's-era Image Comics. In fact, the prevailing sentiment is those comics suck.

But do they?

So the purpose of this series is to take a look back at a few Image titles from that era and reach a different conclusion. Maybe.

Or maybe not.

Kicking off the series is the oh-riginal Gen 13 miniseries from 1994, which Tom Panarese assures us was the most important year of the 90's.

In any case, how does Gen 13 far in retrospect? Have the ensuing decades been kind to this miniseries? Or, like so many other comics, is Gen 13 a dated, cringe-inducing anachronism better left forgotten?

The answer to that question can only be "Some time in the first quarter of 2017 is what I keep hearing".

For those of you determined to soil the Internet by sharing click-bait, "Gen 13 isn't the only 1990's mainstay that gets saluted in this episode!"

Due to the deluge of ass-kickery this week, unfortunately there just wasn't time for listener feedback this week. But don't cry about it because there's more coming in the future!

Patience! The vast backlog of feedback will be addressed in due time. Fear not!

In the meantime, though, don't let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is trentusmagnus@gmail.com as the other seems to be having technical problems.

In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to trentusmagnus@gmail.com for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!
