For it’s 50th anniversary, 2001: A Space Odyssey is being re-released in IMAX and 70mm and it is also Conor, Mark and Don’s first time seeing it. Directed by Stanley Kubrick, the film, which follows a voyage to Jupiter with the sentiant computer HAL after the discovery of a monolith affecting human evolution. It deals with themes of existentialism, human evolution, technology, A.I. , and the possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial life. A thought provoking film that writer Arthur C. Clarke said “if you completely understand, we’ve failed”, you’ll be left with more questions then answers. Join us on our journey through this space voyage.
