This week we watched a documentary about an examination of a failure of justice in the case against the West Memphis Three, 2012’s West of Memphis. Directed by Amy Berg and produced by Fran Walsh and Peter Jackson it follows teenagers Jessie Misskelley, Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin who were arrested and wrongly sentenced for the murders of three 8-year-old children and chronicles the history of the imprisoned men all the way up to the eventual release through interviews conducted with lawyers, judges, journalists, family members, witnesses, and the West Memphis Three themselves.
