#151: That Time We Watched Willard

For the final film of Killer Animal month we watched 2003 film which is reworking of the 1971 release of the same name, Willard. Written and Directed by Glen Morgan and loosely based on the novel Ratman’s Notebooks by Stephen Gilbert, it tells the story of a repressed man Willard (Crispin Glover) who befriends a group of rats and finds temporary refuge from daily abuse at the hands of his bedridden mother (Jackie Burroughs) and his father’s old partner, Frank (R. Lee Ermey). Soon it becomes clear that the brood of rodents is ready and willing to exact a vicious, deadly revenge on anyone who dares to bully their sensitive new maste.
