b"Americans are how-to oriented. We want a technique. But Proverbs doesn\\u2019t give methods for wise decisions. Instead, it says, \\u201cHere\\u2019s the kind of person you have to become to make wise decisions.\\u201d\\xa0\\nAnd here is the one character quality that\\u2019s most crucial for becoming a wise person. Over and over, the Bible says, \\u201cIf you think you\\u2019re wise, you\\u2019re a fool; but if you\\u2019re aware of your foolishness, you\\u2019re on your way to becoming wise.\\u201d This is about pride and humility.\\nWe\\u2019re going to learn three things from these texts: 1) the diagnosis of pride (what it is), 2) the destructiveness of pride (what it does), and 3) the antidote for pride.\\nThis sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on November 14, 2004.
