Derf Backderf - Indy comix creator
Derf Backderf sold his first cartoon in sixth grade Today he is one of the most widely-read indy comix creators. Known not only for his graphic novels, his images and illustrations have been viewed on t-shirts, cd covers, publications, and even in museums and galleries worldwide
His THE CITY comic strip appeared in over 140 publications during it's 20-plus years, including The Village Voice, Chicago Reader and The Los Angeles Reader.
He is a recipient of a prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and on that note today we talk to Derf about his book Trashed
