It's NOT Just Something That Kids Do! - We've all been there. We're stressed to the max, and the words just come out of our mouths. Of course, when things calm down, we wish we could have handled things better. And why do we have to get verbally aggressive before people will listen to us? Researchers have recently learned that stress can affect your ability to think as well as your speaking ability which is the key to understanding the connection between stress, toxic language, and bullying. Anne McTavish knows from first-hand experience what stress can do to people through her work as a lawyer - and now she'll share with your listeners ways to successfully deal with stress and handle confrontations without resorting to bullying or verbal aggression. Anne McTavish was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She received a B.A. (with a major in political science) from The University of Calgary in 1980 and a law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Alberta in 1983. She was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1984 and has practised law ever since. She is a also a trained mediator.
