John Burroughs served twenty-seven years in the United States Air Force, both on active duty and in the Reserve, as a law enforcement flight chief, supervisor, patrolman and a K-9 handler. His many deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom and he has provided security for the president of the United States. He is one of the co-authors of Encounter in Rendlesham Forest along with Nick Pope and Jim Penniston. John might be the first and only former military member to receive VA compensation for injuries sustained during a UFO encounter.
