Teaching English in Asia with Marilyn and Matt from Words With Winos

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of doing an interview for the travel podcast Words with Winos. Matt and Marlyn, the hosts, are a couple who fell in love with travel and have built their lifestyle around it. As we talked with them and heard their story of leaving the U.S. after college to teach English in Asia we knew we needed to have them on The World Wanderers. Matt and Marilyn share their story of finishing college and deciding to chase adventure instead. From arriving in Bangkok for their first trip outside the U.S., to a midnight run from Korea, and now exploring Japan.  Matt and Marilyn have a wealth of experience from years teaching English in Thailand, Korea, and Vietnam. So this episode is hugely valuable for anyone considering teaching English abroad, but it is also great entertainment. On this episode: - Drinking while podcasting - How to avoid bad deals when teaching abroad - Returning home and wanting to leave immediately - Family and friends who don’t understand why you travel so much - Teaching English in Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, and remotely - How to avoid tyrannical bosses in Korea - Balancing work with exploring as a digital nomad Links: - wordwithwinos.com - Dave's ESL Cafe ------------ Our book recommendation for this episode is The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein.
