Spotless: Is Esquire Network’s First Scripted Series Worth Watching?

On this episode we preview Esquire Network’s new crime drama Spotless. It stars Marc-André Grondin, Denis Ménochet (Inglorious Basterds film), Miranda Raison (24: Live Another Day, MI-5) and Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey).
Spotless is about a troubled family man whose life begins to spin out of control when his crooked brother that he hasn’t seen in years shows up in a bit of a jam. They were both part of the same childhood tragedy, but have gone their separate ways. One now has a pretty good life with a wife, two children and a business cleaning crime scenes and the other who has been in and out of jail. Because of circumstances and poor decisions they end up being forced to put those crime scene cleaning skills to use for a local mob boss.
Spotless is a solid first outing scripted-wise for Esquire Network. While we’ve seen many a mob or crime drama, I like the slightly different twist on it here with how the brothers get mixed up in things. Each episode builds nicely to an ending that leaves you wanting to watch the next one. Similar to Empire or Scandal, but with a much slower pacing like Broadchurch or Fortitude.
