TTB 142: Cannibals, Flying Doctors, and Isolated in Asia During COVID-19

Angèle Rose is the Founder of @bloom.stories, a storytelling project that was born from a love of traveling and telling stories of people changing our world. On this podcast Angèle discussed her extraordinary story of being stuck on the small island nation of @vanuatuislands when the pandemic closed down the world in early 2020. But it doesn’t end there! She also spent time with a community of cannibals, her time almost getting stranded alone on the Solomon Islands, and her experience with a man making an extraordinary effort to save sea turtles in the south pacific. During her experience, she met exceptional “change makers”, including a flying doctor with whom she traveled with in order to provide aid to the local island population, and a woman in Bali that ambitiously provided food to the numerous families which were hit hard by the lack of tourism dollars as the pandemic unraveled the world’s travel infrastructure.
