A new threat has awakened in Hawkins, and the leader of the school Dungeons and Dragons club is implicated in an apparent murder. Dustin, Mike, and Lucas get caught up in the new terror infecting Hawkins and must call upon Eleven to assist. Meanwhile, Joyce discovers Hopper is still alive and travels to Alaska to pay a ransom.
