Lucas\\u2019 wonderful foundation not only helps with disasters as this one but also strives to better the bahamian education and create a sustainable community throughout. Lucas Metropulos is the Founder and Board Chairman of\\xa0 Lend a Hand Bahamas. It was\\xa0

founded it in 2014, and is a registered Bahamian nonprofit organization. Lend a Hand Bahamas does mostly work on community development and has been focusing mostly on Nassau, Bahamas where they have a Community Center. The staff and volunteers run educational programming for the youth after school, weekends, and summers and also work with adults in the community. In addition, they have done work on other Bahamian islands and are working to create a sustainable model for a community development they plan to replicate more in the Bahamas.\\xa0

They are assisting in the Hurricane Dorian relief effort by sending over containers and planes with relief items on them first to Grand Bahama next week and then to other affected islands as needed. In addition, they will be supporting displaced individuals in Grand Bahama at a community partner\'s center and then also at their center in Nassau. Their support is coming in from around the U.S. and the world.\\xa0
