DJ Flip went away to the mountains with Amarah. Little did they know it would snow, but they took furs, coats, and blankets with them. So they were prepared. The day before it snowed, DJ Flip met important people that wanted him to have a career in radio broadcasting. They were willing to help him get more training and strongly believed in him. It all sounded exciting to Flip but it also scared him. He was use to doing things his way and on his own.

It was the 2nd day in the mountains that Amarah & DJ Flip were planning to leave to go back down to what they called Flip City. When they woke up that morning, it was cold and snowing. The house that they were in was the house that Amarah had bought. It was Mr. Carlston’s house. But Amarah never told Flip who it belonged to. They slept in separate rooms across the hall from each other. They put the heat on low.

Amarah was up before flip. He smelled eggs, grits, and bacon. When he looked out the window, he saw the ground covered with snow. It made Flip feel a little depressed. He gave himself a quick hot shower and got back into bed and laid there with his arms folded.

Suddenly, he heard a knock at the door. Flip said: Come in.

Amarah: Good morning, Flip. How are you feeling?

Amarah brought Flip breakfast in bed. When Flip saw it he said: You didn’t have to do all that.

Amarah: I couldn’t sleep & I was hungry, and I figured you’d be up about this time.
Amarahgave him a tray of breakfast, and she had a tray for herself. She sat on the bed with Flip and ate.

Flip wasn’t hungry because stress took his appetite, but after tasting how good Amarah’s cooking was, it made him eat. Flip thanked Amarah for breakfast. It made him feel a little better. Then Flip and Amarah began to talk.

Flip: Did you see all the snow outside? We’re not going back home today. I’m hoping the snow will melt soon.

Amarah: Why? This will give us time to be together and talk.

No sooner than Amarah had spoken, Flip’s cell phone began to ring. When Flip answered it, a strange man threatened him.

Man: You’re going to die!

Amarah heard the voice through the phone. She got up to leave the room and took the breakfast trays with her. Amarah looked sad and worried and Flip saw it. After he received the terrible call, he went into the kitchen where Amarah was.

Amarah asked: So who was that on the phone?

Flip slowly answered with disappointment: Someone threatening me, but you have nothing to be afraid of.

Amarah: So what are you going to do? Have you given it any thought about moving here or staying at Flip City?

Flip: I’ve been thinking about it, but in the meantime I still got things to do at Flip City.

Amarah kept quiet for the rest of that day. She wouldn’t utter another word. She sat looking out the dinning room window thinking about Terrence Lewis. She knew he was the ring leader behind the threat phone calls Flip was getting. Amarah also knew that if she asked Sphinx Bazel for help in getting Terrence to back off, he would do it. But she didn’t want to involve him because she knew there would be more trouble. Amarah wanted to keep her distance from Bazel. She thought if she would do it herself, Terrence wouldn’t be alive.

Flip felt nervous from Amarah’s silence. He saw that she had caught a cold chill. He put on his animal furs and grabbed some wood from the front porch to put into the fireplace and started a fire so Amarah could get warm.

Amarah put on her coat, mittens, and toboggan. She laid down on the sofa near the fire place. She was feeling a little tired. Flip covered her with a blanket, and she went off to sleep quickly.
Flip sat in a recliner near Amarah. He fell asleep too, but his sleep was not good.

Amarah woke up an hour later and saw that Flip was troubled in his sleep. While he was sleep, she went into the room where he slept and looked up the number of the threat call on his phone. She saw that it was Terrence.

When Amarah was back out in the hallway, she met up with a nervous wreck DJ Flip.
Flip: Amarah, I didn’t know where you were.

Amarah frowned and said: I’m right here. I had to go use the bathroom. Why you so nervous?

Flip: I had a bad dream that somebody came here after you.

Amarah: No, I’m right here. We’ll, I was thinking about staying here and not going back and just go back to get the rest of my things to start moving in. You don’t have to if you don’t want to.

Flip: Amarah I want to, but …

Amarah: But what ..

Flip: And I haven’t forgotten about us being engaged.

Amarah: Are we?

Flip: You know we are. You know we were trying to keep things a secret.

Amarah: Yea, and I can’t wear my ring. That’s the reason we need to get away from Flip City. There is nothing there for us but trouble and envy. It’s getting to the point that we can’t even live our lives together. We can’t even see each other. I don’t want to live that way with you.

Flip: Well, if you stay here, maybe it will be safe, and I can come up later. Then we can get married. You won’t have to worry about that engagement ring for long. Just let me finish out what’s on my schedule in Flip City, please.

Amarah: Alright Flip. I’ll go back with you and pack my things. Then I’ll come back here and wait for you, but I won’t wait forever.

Amarah was worried that she wouldn’t have Flip for very long, and Flip was worried that he wouldn’t have Amarah very long, but they both went on back to Flip City in agreement.
