Covid-19 has brought many topics of discussion to the forefront around the world. One that garnered a lot of attention was the fact that those with health issues were at a much higher risk of catching the COVID-19 virus. A topic that many did not hear discussed was that there were and are those who are on the frontline with other health issues. Thank you again to all of the first responders and those who are showing up even without the pats on the back.

Danielle, while working in the VA, is one of those who are on the frontline and her story will inspire you to say thank you. It starts with being transparent about where we are with our health. There are still many who ignore small signals when it comes to their health. We all remember the scene in Tyler Perry's "What's Done in the Dark" play where Brown was going to the doctor for the first time in years. Well, there are some real-life Mr. Browns and Mrs. Browns walking around.

Today's guest, Danielle Batiste, is dealing with Asthma and Diabetes but she made a bold declaration that they would not hold her hostage. It's important to know where you stand so you can set boundaries as needed. She is inspired to not give up and her story will others as well.

The fight may be a little harder but it is not impossible!

Danielle's tips:

~ Keep your body moving daily
~ Start with your mindset and then work on the rest
~ Make a decision on if you want to live or die! (Whew...that part)
~ Talk to people who have similar health issues for support

Danielle believes that her military background has greatly impacted how she is able to go into autopilot when it comes to showing up in times like these. Even with the extra precautions, she must take to protect her son, She continues to show up. A valuable asset for those who are Veterans. She deserves many thanks for that alone.
