Are you flying too high? It's a question that can be tied to many different things including quarantine. Today's episode hit on some points that step way outside the typical COVID-19 conversations that you have heard recently.

Shari Williams, the Goddess of Drones, shared how she made the transition from PR to Flying Drones. There were even a few tips about who may be hiring drone flyers in the near future. There are limitless opportunities because the commercial use of drones is still fairly new.

Many of the tips Shari shared mirror what is done in the Speaking Industry. Do you have the skills to be considered an expert in your field? While quarantine has definitely had its disappointments and hardships, there is the potential for you to add to your media kit and experience. Thinking of your speaking business in the same way that a drone operator does can put you in a different mindset. Better yet, it can put you in a different tax bracket.

Ask yourself these questions:

~ Are you showing people what you do?
~ Do you have certification or training in your industry?
~ Have you networked with people in your industry?
~ Do you know who you serve?
~ Do you know the laws of speaking?

The most powerful way for you to show up as the expert and not be put into a box is to do the work. Having a mentor or coach adds accountability and credibility to you as a speaker. They allow you to fly a little higher just like when you are a drone operator. Think about how drones are being used to save lives. Your speech, your book, your course has the same level of value when you invest in it.
