Hanelle Harris is a Film Director and Creator of ground breaking show The Baby Mama’s Club and her latest project Sis- the first shows to have a lead cast of Maori and Paskifia women.
Baby Mama’s Club broke streaming records rating just behind historical NZ number 1 Shortland Street.

Hanelle got pregnant in her second year of drama school and with the help of her friends finished her studies and started working in the industry with determination to do great things using her platform to be an activist and tell stories that need to be shared.

- Becoming a young mother and the stigma and shame young brown mothers face
- Systemic racism
- The constant oppression and how Hanelle navigates it
- We find out about Matauranga and Maramataka which is a huge part of Hanelle’s self-care.
