b'Cheryl Downey, M.Div, is a practicing shaman and grief-healing practitioner. She has guided those who are ill, dying and grieving for almost 35 years as a former hospital and hospice chaplain. She has a B.A. in Anthropology (1976) from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. For the last 16 years she has apprenticed to Lynn Andrews and the teachings of the Sisterhood of the Shields, graduating from the 4-year school in 2003, then serving as a mentor for ten years. She is currently active in the school\'s Kindred Spirits graduate program. She has also been a contributor to the MotherHouse of the Goddess Rhythms of the Seasons online publication (www.motherhouseofthegoddess.com). She has authored several articles for local publications, including Natural Awakenings Twin Cities and Essential Wellness. In 2014 Cheryl founded the Sacred Wheel Center for Grief and Healing as a safe space for grief-hearted ones and others who are seeking deep healing to explore the mysteries of their pain and grief; and to discover the hidden truth, beauty and power at the heart of their healing. Sacred Wheel Center, Inc. became a reality in March 2016.
