Episode 161: Why is There Blame Culture?

Published: Dec. 18, 2019, 4:40 p.m.

b'The habit of apportioning blame is exists in a vacuum of knowledge about failure. Failure at almost anything in our goal orientated modern society is considered catastrophe therefore the immediate emotional response will be defence or attack. Religion is of course the archetypal construct with which to answer all questions and take ultimate responsibility and in the absence of this then the line of least resistance is usually blame as it takes a lot more effort to understand solve and forgive and move forward constructively. Blame is a toxic illusion of control. Religion practiced correctly is a much more benign and often constructive illusion of control. People subjected to the worst possible traumas can frequently end up blaming themselves and take a pathological behaviour pattern with them throughout their lives. There is nothing that cannot be understood and forgiven along with proper allocation of responsibility as long as the correct professional help is both sought and available.'
