I used to be dead broke.

Regardless of what I did, I couldn\\u2019t seem to get ahead.\\xa0Whenever money came my way, I would find a way to get rid of it. Quickly.

Not a penny was saved. Not more than a minimum payment was made. And no matter how badly I thought I wanted to be financially free, I always found a way to sabotage yet another once-promising entrepreneurial endeavor.

I was on autopilot. Money come, money go.\\xa0

Then, on November 29th, 2008, I learned what I still consider to be the most important concept I\\u2019ve ever come across.\\xa0

I learned about my hierarchy of values and how everything in my life \\u2014 my successes and my sabotages \\u2014 was a direct reflection of what I valued most and what I valued least.

The truth is, I was broke because I placed a low value on finances and wealth building.\\xa0

It\\u2019s funny, I\\u2019ve never had a difficult time getting my butt to the gym. Nor have I ever needed any outside motivation to read books and teach others what I learned. But when it came to making money, I couldn\\u2019t seem to stay motivated.\\xa0
