The V Foundation was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary NC State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator. The mission of the V Foundation is to funds game-changing research and all-star scientists to accelerate Victory Over Cancer\\xae and save lives. Today the V Foundation funds research for all cancer types, at leading cancer centers and research facilities nationwide. The organization awards 100% of direct donations to cancer research and programs. The Foundation\\u2019s endowment covers administrative expenses.
