Geoff Thorn: Calls for New Zealanders to educate themselves on 5G

An effort to educate conspiracy theorists and sceptics about 5G is underway.
A survey by NZ Telecommunications Forum shows nearly half of New Zealanders are unsure, neutral, or untrusting of the new mobile technology.
Thirty six percent say they don't know anything about 5G, and just 23 percent say they know a reasonable amount.

In response to sceptics and conspiracy theorists, the forum's created 5gfacts.org.nz to help Kiwis put their fears aside.
Chief Executive Geoff Thorn told Mike Hosking there are always suspicions when new technology is rolled out, but the country has a reputation to uphold.
"New Zealand has been ranked number three in the world, so we need to keep our place there."
Thorn says the explanation for why we didn't have massive conspiracies over the last few upgrades, is actually quite simple.
He says social media wasn't as rife back then, and information flows differently now.
