“People depend on what they hear and they’re inundated with news and USDA guideline posters. You’re swimming upstream trying to help people.”

– Temple Stewart

Temple Stewart (@the.ketogenic.nutritionist) is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer and Health Behavior Change Specialist. She played D1 soccer at the University of Tennessee Martin, which is where she received her degree in Dietetics. She completed her internship at the VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, FL, and currently works and lives in St. Petersburg, FL with her husband and two poodles, Axel and Rowdie.

Temple always played sports growing up and she was always fascinated with the way properly fueling her body impacted her performance on the field. Throughout college she developed a very unhealthy relationship with food and began using food rules or diets as punishment or for comfort. This behavior propelled her into learning all she could about food and how it impacts our bodies, ultimately making her choose to become a Registered Dietitian. Throughout the process, she began to learn how to eat for health and how to develop a healthy relationship with food. Along the road, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), furthermore increasing her interest in treating the body with nutrition.

Listen in today as Jimmy and Temple talk about her journey and why she believes that the ketogenic diet is how humans are wired to eat.
