Low Carb USA™ is an organization focused on dietary education and support by hosting scientific conferences, providing online coaching and mentoring, and legislative efforts. In July of 2016, they brought together the world’s top medical and scientific minds on how nutrition can treat and prevent serious disease at the largest-ever low-carb conference.

Today’s lecture is from leader of The Noakes Foundation, Jayne Bullen. Jayne is the leader of The Noakes Foundation and works closely with Prof Noakes and a team of visionary scientists in Cape Town, addressing the escalating obesity and diabetes crisis in South Africa and the world through research and community education interventions. She is a passionate advocator of what she calls ‘living research’. After spending many years in research and strategy environments around the world – both in big business and big picture health and environmental studies – Jayne became a follower and believer in the power of social media to encapsulate a more active form of real-time research and to support bigger quantitative data sets in a more integrated way. She believes in the immense value of living research, is a committed low carb advocate, and is blown away daily – hourly – by the many, many success stories and real impacts this true revolution has had on people’s health, as well as the changes she has seen in her own health following this lifestyle. The Noakes Foundation and Eat Better South Africa are affecting large scale change through township interventions and large scale clinical research. Jayne has an MBA from the University of Leeds and a degree in International Relations from the University of Stellenbosch. She will be sharing her lecture titled “How to Change the Way a Country Eats”.
