The Solution to Supply Chain Woes: Domestic Manufacturing

The pandemic shined a light on our long-neglected supply chains, failure of our industrial policy, and the dangerous vulnerability that we created when we ceded much of our manufacturing to other nations.

There’s been a lot of hand wringing lately about the semi-conductor shortage and the ships off the coast of California and how to get them unloaded.

While these are real concerns, addressing them is just fixing the short-term problem.
What we really need is a solution that addresses the underlying issue: growth in domestic manufacturing.
