ACB SCOTUS Hearings a Failure for America; Competing Biden-Trump Town Halls

Published: Oct. 16, 2020, 6:45 p.m.

Leslie is first joined by Ian Millhiser, a senior correspondent at Vox, where he focuses on the Supreme Court, the Constitution, and the decline of liberal democracy in the United States.

The two discuss why the supreme court nomination hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett have completely failed the American people.  Ian also explains how having a 6-3 conservative majority on the court could present a grave danger to our democracy, health care for over 20 million Americans, and more.

Ian is the author of "Injustices: The Supreme Court's History of Comforting the Comfortable and Afflicting the Afflicted."
He previously clerked for Judge Eric L. Clay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and served as a 'Teach For America' corps member in the Mississippi Delta.

During the second half of the show, Leslie is joined by Christine Pelosi, an attorney, author, and advocate. Christine has served as a public interest lawyer in San Francisco and Washington DC, is Chair of the California Democratic Party Women’s Caucus, and a member of the Democratic National Committee, where she co-founded the DNC Veterans and Military Families Council and is a vice chair.
And of course, we all know and love her Mom, the great House Speaker Nancy Pelosi!  You can follow Christine on twitter at @sfpelosi.

Leslie and Christine breakdown soundbites from last night's dueling presidential town halls.  Joe Biden answered questions from voters and moderator George Stephanopoulos on ABC, and Donald Trump did the same from voters and moderator Savannah Guthrie on NBC.
