S3E1- Cult Franchise Mini-Review: Rest Stop 1 & 2

Published: Jan. 5, 2021, 12:02 a.m.

The first of numerous multi-franchise mini-reviews starts up for 2021! After a previously grim year, I decided to keep on track tackling numerous other underseen or partially heard of franchises, determine if it was of any merit to begin with and keep it shorter than other mini-reviews.

Rest Stop (2006) was a weird combo of Strangeland, Duel and The Hitcher but despite it being the first installment in Warner Bros. Raw Feed DTV Horror entries, it didn't exactly accomplish much despite being one of Jaime Alexander (Thor, Blindspot)'s first film roles. Was the tone a confused one or was it just only acceptable to the "so-bad-it's-good" crowd to begin with despite having talent like an X-Files writer present? Find out if it and the sequel were of any overall worth and more (all in less than an hour).
