When to be Serious Or Fun with your Kids | Using Behaviour to Guide Behaviour

b'It’s important to help your kids understand the importance of when to be serious and when to have fun so that they can lead a balanced life. Some kids may learn bad behavior, such as having fun at the expense of someone else, which can often happen when children aren’t controlled or taught well. We can often judge our own kids harsher than we judge the kids of others because we won’t think too much of those kids misbehaving, but when our own kids start misbehaving, we’re often a lot more harsh. Your children will almost always mimic your behavior, so influencing them really comes down to how you act as a parent/spouse.

“And I think with children, sometimes they’re so influenced by those around them that sometimes, kids want to have fun all the time, but if you don’t teach them times when it’s not appropriate, then they can miss out on so many opportunities in life because they just can’t be relied on, because they revert back to always just wanting to have fun. And for your kids to get ahead in life, they need to know the difference.” 3:57
