Building Your Children's Self Confidence Through Serving Others | Curing Boredom and Selfishness

b'There are moments in our lives when the children will be bored, annoyed, mopy, or feeling sorry for themselves, but when we get them to serve others, all that goes out the window. It makes them happier, more positive, and they stop focusing on themselves and life at that point for everyone is just better. The nice things we do for other people don’t have to be big gestures, but can be simple things like giving them cookies, or cards that say nice things. Try to avoid making someone else feel obligated to serve you back, but instead serve them with no strings attached. Do the act of kindness for that person and for nothing or no one else. Our kids have gotten to the point where they will serve/do something nice for someone and won’t even tell us or anyone else about it.

“When we focus on ourselves, or we’re too, like we don’t have anything external to focus on, we can really go into ourselves and we can get really down. But when we focus outward, or we’re helping others, we totally get lost in what we’re doing and we don’t even consider how we are feeling, if that makes sense.” 0:41
