Trent Davis, aka Trent – G “The Messenger”, is from Chicago Illinois. He is a rapper, but different than most. He’s not saying that he is better, but he has a different message that he speaks on. Trent-G is a street gospel motivational and inspirational rapper, that speaks about peace, uplifting yourself & others, and most importantly GOD. He raps about waging war against the devil, and spiritual warfare. Trent used to be a secular rap artist, but something happened to him, and he could not help but change the content of his songs. Even though his music is positive, and speaks about God, etc, it is still street. He says his beats are secular and very hard hitting, but his message is different. Many young people believe in God and listen to secular artist, which is cool. He loves music, but he believes that some young people who listen to secular rappers, etc, would play gospel music while riding in their cars, or even in the club, but afraid that it might run people away, because it may sound too church. This generation of young people will not play traditional gospel, because it’s not their sound, but he has put the word of GOD over hard-hitting beats to give them something to ride to, and yet be ministered to as well.
