03/29/07: The Persian Gulf of Tonkin

Last weekend, 15 British sailors and Marines were captured when their vessel allegedly sailed into Iranian waters in the Persian Gulf. Two days later, a Russian reporter presented his findings that the United States is planning to bomb Iran on April 6th. Codenamed Operation: Bite, the plan is to destroy major military facilities and a few of their nuclear enrichment laboratories, amongst other targets. Excepting the nuclear part, this sounds like the "shock and awe" campaign we initially launched four years earlier, in Iraq. Jared and Ralph explain why this has all the hallmarks of the start of World War III.
