02/26/07: Walter Cronkite vs. the Media

At the ELPN, you often hear us complain about the complicit mainstream media. Walter Cronkite, venerable newsman, gave a keynote address at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism last week that was very critical of the role the MSM plays in society. John Gibson (of FOX News) feels that journalists doing what they are meant to do (like Anderson Cooper) are nothing more than better-than-thou snobs because they don't cover stories like the Anna Nicole Smith estate battle. In the meantime, we scoop up a story the MSM completely missed - a provision to the Military Commissions Act allows Bush to use the military as local law enforcement (read: martial law!) as he sees fit. Jared and Ralph skewer the lame-stream media!!!
