b'Amy Shamroe is the Awards Director of six international book awards, most notable being the Independent Publisher Book Awards, known as the IPPY Awards. She has been with the Awards for 15 years and comes from ten years in the world of bookselling. She is also the host of the podcast, Behind the Cover, where she interviews award winning authors. The Independent Publisher Book Awards were conceived in 1996 as an unaffiliated awards program open to all members of the independent publishing industry, representing independent authors and publishers worldwide.

The awards are intended to bring increased recognition to the thousands of exemplary independent, university, and self-published titles published each year. Since the inaugural contest in 1996, over 6,000 books have received \\u201cIPPY\\u201c Awards. The IPPY Awards reward those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change to publishing.
