Spotify isn't really about the music anymore according to Spencer Kornhaber of the Atlantic. He is referring to the Joe Rogan vs. Neil Young controversy. Young, the 76 year old, worth a reported $200M, left Spotify objecting to Rogan remaining on Spotify. Young has had a career of musical activism since 1966 as his band, the Buffalo Springfield, sang in their hit "For What It's Worth."
