First of all, a big "Congratulations!!!!" goes out to Fausto Fernos, Marc Felion, Miss Ronnie, Amanda Steinstein, Cesar Torres, Sal-E, and everybody else responsible for the Feast of Fools podcast. The Podcast Awards added a GLBT category this year, and the Feast of Fools not only was nominated, but they won! Feast of Fools was one of the first podcasts to which I subscribed after podcasts were added to iTunes, and I have been a fan ever since. I am totally addicted to the show, and I can not do without my daily dose of the "Fools". If you have not given the podcast a listen yet, then please treat yourself. I will warn you that it is not work-safe and people have been known to burst out in fits of laughter while listening at the gym, but it will put a smile on your face, a spring in your step and...well, I'd better leave it at that, since this is a "G-rated" podcast. ;-) Congratulations again, guys and gals!

Prejudice is the act of holding preconceived ideas about somebody or something else, or an entire group.

Having lived in a small, rural town in East Tennessee, I have experienced prejudiced attitudes, and as an openly gay man, I have experienced them first hand.

A Virginia Senator running for reelection referred to an Indian employee of his opponent as "Macaca". In one definition of the word, "Macaca" refers to a genus of monkeys. Was this the Senator's intent? Watch the video and make up your own mind.

Another event happened recently in Caro, MI, in which a group of Arab-American college students were buying a large number of Trac Phones to resell at a higher price. A Wal-Mart employee called the police on suspicion of terrorism and a plot to blow up the Mackinac Bridge was being linked to these guys. The terrorism charge is being dropped by the federal prosecutor, but they are still being held on money laundering charges connected with the Trac Phone transactions. Was prejudice at work here? Read the story and make up your own mind.

I believe that prejudicial ideas are the greatest danger to humanity. Prejudice is the driving force behind war, terrorism, unchecked poverty, and profit at the expense of others.

If we are ever to be truly free and peaceful on this planet, we must deal with the inner demons of prejudice.
