First released in 2014, the new revised, updated edition of Cannabis Pharmacy was launched just last month. Researcher and cannabis expert Michael Backes offers evidence-based information on cannabis therapy to manage an array of ailments and conditions. He provides information on how cannabis works in the human body, how best to prepare and administer it, and how to modify and control dosage. The newly revised edition is completely up-to-date with the latest information on the body's encannabinoid system, which is now understood to control emotion, appetite, and memory. He also explains a new system for cannabis classification and 21 additional ailments and conditions that can be treated with medical cannabis. There are currently more than 4.2 million medical cannabis patients in the United States and nearly 20,000 certified patients in Hawai\\u02bbi.
Michael Backes is the Curriculum & Training Advisor for Maui Grown Therapies and a member of the company\\u2019s Science & Medical Advisory Board. He specializes in cannabis science and policy issues for a Southern California consultancy. He previously founded the nation\\u2019s first evidence-based medical cannabis pharmacy. Backes is\\xa0 active with Project CBD (dedicated to promoting research into the medical utility of cannabidiol) and he is a member of the International Association for Cannabinoid Medicines, and the American Herbal Product\\u2019s Association\\u2019s Cannabis Committee.
