We’re joined on the panel also by Dr. Sharon Alston, who is working closely with TD James Browne on the who is bringing forth a proposal to introduce an offence called theft of the companion animal

We're chatting about the sharp increase in dog thefts across Ireland over the last few months, and we’ll be taking a look at the need for legislation reform to enforce stricter penalties on the criminals who are responsible for these dog thefts in recent months.

We’ll also be taking a look at the legislation in other countries and take a look in particular at the Animal protection index which rates different countries based on their own legislation and finally we’re going to be taking a look at some of the dogs who have gone missing over the last few months suspected of being stolen.
